Saturday Social Media Summit Details
Besides “Where can I find that yummy Muslim bacon Chris was talking about?”, the second most popular question of the day at Friday’s conference was:
“Hey, what are we doing tomorrow?”
I’m here to help answer that. Saturday’s events are broken into three groups:
Saturday Summit Panels
Professionals from four different disciplines will be discussing their… erm… discipline in room 152 throughout the day. Panel topics include business, technology, food, and womens’ issues/parenting. Panelist information and scheduled times can be found on our Saturday Social Media Summit page.
Saturday Un-Conference
Room 252 will host an un-conference-style series of short discussions about, well, whatever you want to talk about. So far, we have sessions to discuss Twitter tools & tips and ways to improve your blog Times are beginning to fill up, make sure to add yourself to the schedule soon.
SmallerIndiana.com Meetup Room
Join your fellow Smoosiers in the meetup room – make new friends, find new SmallerIndiana.com groups, and eat cookies in room 167. Not a Smoosier? Sign up at Smallerndiana.com
Haven’t signed up for Saturday?
There’s still time! Register for the Saturday Summit – just $49!
Interviews from Firebelly Marketing
Chris Brogan talks to Duncan Alney, Firebelly Marketing, about a sysem of a down song stuck in his head. This is a quick video at BlogIndiana in Indianapolis, which really is a great and nerdy event! Another lengthier video will be posted soon.
Jason Falls talks to Duncan Alney about the importance of practicing what you preach (at BlogIndiana). Its a quick snippet as we were setting up for a longer interview. Stay tuned!
Saturday Summit – More Than Just Panels
Yes, we have some great panels.
Yes, we have cookies.
BUT – did you know we also have meetup rooms and even an unconference-y “Summit” room? Yeah, we left that part out, didn’t we?
BlogIndiana’s Saturday Social Media Summit will give Hoosiers an opportunity to meet up in two themed meeting spaces – the SmallerIndiana.com Meetup Room and the BlogINDIANA Summit Room.
The SmallerIndiana.com Meetup Room is available for Smoosiers and non-Smoosiers alike to hang out, share contact info, and just visit F2F.We’ll have a live BlogIndiana Tweet wall going to keep you entertained.
The Summit Room is a little more involved – attendees and presenters can use this space to expand on presentations, share ideas, or pitch concepts to other attendees at a shared computer kiosk & projector.
Tickets for the Saturday Social Media Summit are just $49 and include those aforementioned cookies (along with the rest of your lunch) and some nice swag. Buy your ticket today!
Who do you look forward to meeting in the SmallerIndiana.com Meetup Room? What ideas do you have for the Summit Room?
It’s Business Time

- Scotty Wise (CEO, Scotty’s Brewhouse)
We’d love to hear your ideas for discussion topics – what do you want to hear about?

Meet the Moms
The Indiana Moms Panel for BlogIndiana’s Saturday Social Media Summit has been set, and what a panel it is:
Heather Sokol – justheather.com
Amy Clark – momadvice.com
Casey Mullins – mooshinindy.com
Briana Carter – bargainbriana.com
Stephanie Precourt – adventuresinbabywearing.com
The 90-minute panel will discuss… well… whatever you want them to. Or whatever they want to, whichever.
Casey Mullins already has several ideas for the panel:
You do not know mom bloggers AT ALL.
We could fill 90 minutes talking about shoes.
Or chocolate.
Or Donald Trumps hair. You’re about to learn sooo much.
There you have it – the panel will be discussing footwear, chocolate, and hairpieces. If you have other ideas, feel free to leave them in the comment area. We’d love to hear from you.
What do you want to hear from our foodie panel?
Renee Wilmeth of feedmedrinkme.com, Jeff Lefevere of goodgrape.com, Heather Sokol of inexpensively.com, Kirsten Eamon-Shine of MiddleWestMeals, and Heather Willard of FoodHussy are ready to discuss their healthy obsession with all things food & wine. We want to hear from you – what do you want our foodie panel to talk about?
Early-bird registration extended
Since I’m getting a lot of last minute questions about tickets and there seem to be a lot of people on the site right now, I’ve decided to extend the early-bird price through Sunday. So, if you’ve been procrastinating, you get 2 more days to realize that you can’t miss this conference!
Blogger survey results from 2008
Some of you may remember we ran a 2008 Indiana Blogger Census leading up to the conference last year. Up until now, we had not released the results of the census. While the data collected now seems a bit light, it is still interesting to look at (we think). Here are some of the anonymous survey results:
